Since Charlie Cox reprised his portrayal of Daredevil in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with his cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are wondering if they can expect other cast members from the Marvel Netflix Universe to return, even the actors from those properties.

Finn Jones, who played Danny Rand in Iron Fist, wants another chance to depict the character, spoke with Geekscape earlier this year and was very frank in his hopes.

“I’d love another chance. I care about Danny Rand deeply, I believe in that character, I think there’s a lot of work to be done.”

When Netflix announced Iron Fist with Jones cast in the role, critics accused the show of being “orientalist.” In 2017 during an interview with Vulture, Jones responded to the criticism by saying, “Don’t get angry and start a mob when you haven’t seen the show!” Unfortunately, the show debuted with a large number of negative reviews.

Regarding the show’s season two reception Jones said, “...we really understood what the flaws were, and we worked hard to course-correct the show. And in my opinion,...we did a fantastic job bringing that show back up to code. Unfortunately, just a month after that show had…premiered, all of the shows got deleted because Disney wanted to create their own series, they wanted to do their own thing on their own platform, which is understandable. But it was a shame that it kind of, just when we were out of the gate, ready to kind of go running, we were just, like, yanked.”

Yet, the negative feedback does not seem to deter Jones’s passion for the character.

“I love the ability to prove someone wrong, and I want to prove all those motherf*ckers wrong. I know I have it in me and I know I can give the Danny Rand performance that fans want and that is possible.”

Fans will need to wait to find out how Marvel Studios decides to bring the character into the future for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
