New Star Wars Novel 'The High Republic: Convergence' Has Been Delayed

HIgh Republic Jedi

The most recent set of Star Wars books to gain attention are the ones under the High Republic umbrella. The books, set centuries before the events of The Phantom Menace, detail what the Republic was at its height before Palpatine got his hooks into it and began eroding it from without and within. The first book, Light of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule, is set two centuries before Phantom Menace, and details the Jedi as they, what else, try to fight against a galaxy-altering threat that could destroy planets and cost billions of lives. The book was a modest success, scoring third place in the Best Science Fiction category of the 2021 Goodreads Choice Awards. The only question was when a sequel would finally be released.

We finally have an answer, directly from Star Wars books. The book, The High Republic: Convergence, has a new release date of November 15th, 2022, pushed back from the original date in October of 2022. Not much is known at all about the book in any capacity, other than that it will be set several generations before the first book, Light of the Jedi. Little is known beyond that, but since it's anything Star Wars, especially regarding the Jedi, it could very well be a rather cookie-cutter story in terms of its beats. Hopefully, it's not a story we've seen a hundred times before with the Star Wars universe, the same with only the names, times and places changed out, but we'll have to wait and see.

And with this new reveal, it seems we'll have to wait a little longer.
