'Fallout' May Get A Second Season Due To A Little Financial Incentive
Amazon MGM Studios’ new series, Fallout, based on the best-selling video game franchise, just released yesterday, a little early as a gift for fans. The show is already claiming top accolades from critics, debuting at 93% on Rotten Tomatoes. The series stars Walton Goggins, Ella Purnell, and Aaron Moten, is set in the post-nuclear apocalyptic world from the video games, and is being hailed as one of the best video game adaptations ever.
This is good news, especially since it is unknown if there will even be a second season. Some shows get renewed before they even premiere, and some have to wait until the season is over to determine if studios will continue funding them. As the premiere continues, it looks like Fallout may get an early renewal after all.

According to Variety, the California Film Commission announced that they were awarding over $150 million in tax credits to nearly a dozen projects, and one of those was Fallout. Fallout was awarded a $25 million credit to relocate filming from New York to California. Each subsequent season they film they will get a 20% credit on their qualified expenditures.
This does not guarantee that they will relocate, however. It is a promising sign that the show is intended to be continued, and it would also make sense since the plot of the show takes place around Southern California and the Nevada desert.
Fallout is streaming in its entirety on Amazon Prime Video now.
