Fallout London Mod Now Available From GOG

The newest DLC mod for Fallout 4 has finally been released, Fallout: London. This is the first time a Fallout game has been set outside the United States and “embodies the history and aesthetics of London.” Fallout: London has been highly anticipated as the next mod for the past five years. This mod came out on July 25, 2024, and is currently only available for the PC version of Fallout 4, specifically the Game of the Year edition. The Fallout: London expansion will work the GOTY editions from both GOG and Steam. The independent developers behind Fallout: London, Team FOLON, have stated that there is no plan to bring the mod to consoles.

Fallout: London is set in 2237, placing its storyline between Fallout 1 and Fallout 2, roughly 50 years before the events of Fallout 4. The expansion-sized mod is impressive, letting players interact with everything from “stuffy parliamentary aristocrats to a resurrection of the Knights of the Round Table to an uncompromising cult of revolutionaries.” The new mod includes all-new factions: the Gentry, who rule London; the Tommies, who protect and defend London; the 5th Column, who want London to have a fresh start; the Camelot Movement, an underground organization attempting to overthrow the Gentry; the Isle of Dogs Syndicate, a criminal organization made up of merchants; the Vagabonds, the intimidating enemies of the Isle of Dogs Syndicate; and Angel, which is an elusive group “spoken of only in whispers.”

If you’ve been playing Fallout 4 on Steam, the current version of the game is non-compatible, you’ll actually need to downgrade your game to the pre-patched version (1.10.163.0) before installing Fallout: London. After obtaining a copy of the mod itself, you’ll need to use a dedicated launcher, also created by Team FOLON, which is as simple as clicking “Play” in the GOG Galaxy view of the new mod. A new save will be required for Fallout: London, as it takes place in an entirely new world and several game mechanics have been altered from Fallout 4.
