Everything We Learned About ‘Dune: Prophecy’ At New York Comic Con

Dune: Prophecy

One of the panels at New York Comic-Con this year was all about the upcoming HBO Max show, Dune: Prophecy. Not only did fans get to see the cast and crew talk about the show, they also got to see the full-length trailer for the first time. A release date was officially announced, and it will be released on November 17th.

After the panel was shown, there was some discussion from the cast and crew. Olivia Williams and Emily Watson will be playing a pair of Harkonnen sisters. The actresses went on to discuss that the women who join the Bene Gesserit tend to come from messed-up families and have a messed-up childhood. They also discuss how nothing is good or bad in the world of Dune, but instead, everything is compromised, which determines the right path for humankind.

Travel Fimmel also plays a new character named Desmond Hart. Fimmel says that the character has some mental issues he needs to sort out and that fans won’t know if he is good or bad. Since he wasn’t in the books, Fimmel was able to create the character how he wanted and had room to play and have fun.

This series will start at the beginning of Dune and how their world was eventually built to revolve around spice. The show will raise questions about how power operates in both the light and the shadows. This is “pay attention television,” and nothing is a throwaway, everything fans will see is important. The sandworm was also confirmed to be making an appearance, but it seems none of the characters will be riding it like we saw Paul Atreides do.

Dune: Prophecy releases November 17th on HBO Max.
