Pack your trunks, grab your broom, and bring your choice of a cat, owl, or toad! Universal is expanding its theme park empire with the addition of Epic Universe, a new park with five lands, and has already begun to unveil concept art and details. The first area, Celestial Park, will serve as the hub to get to the four other lands: the Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon - Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - The Ministry of Magic.

The two existing Harry Potter worlds at Universal Orlando Resort draw inspiration from iconic locations like Diagon Alley, King’s Cross Station, Hogwarts Castle, and Hogsmeade Village associated with the Harry Potter novels. In contrast, the Ministry of Magic Land takes its cues from Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, bringing fans to 1920s Paris for a fresh and exciting take on the magical world.

Wizarding Paris will be revealed in the form of Place Cachée, a shopping district to rival Diagon Alley with exclusive merchandise, including international wizarding school uniforms. The Métro-Floo network will transport visitors to the modern British Ministry of Magic to arrive in time for the trial of Dolores Umbridge. In the Epic Universe ride, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, guests will soar through the Ministry with innovative “omnidirectional” ride vehicles to help Harry, Hermione, and Ron capture Umbridge after her escape.

Another magical spectacular will be Le Cirque Arcanus, a live theatrical performance including aerialists, puppetry, and dazzling special effects. The show centers around Ringmaster Skender, who has tried to reveal Newt Scamander’s fantastic beasts to the world in an attempt to restore the popularity of his circus. Eddie Redmayne, Newt in Fantastic Beasts, has recorded new scenes for Le Cirque Arcanus. Consequently, Potterheads have been speculating that Imelda Staunton might return as Umbridge for scenes in The Battle at the Ministry. No word yet on Staunton’s involvement or any other actors from the Harry Potter franchise.

There will be plenty of breathtaking scenes to grab a refreshment as well. Café L’Air De La Sirène takes inspiration from a charming Parisian café. Le Gobelet Noir tips a beret to the Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade, making Dark wizards and witches feel at home. Bar Moonshine is perfect for U.S. Quidditch enthusiasts, with exclusive beers, wines, and cocktails inspired by wizarding America.

The Ministry of Magic expansion promises to delight Harry Potter fans of all ages when Epic Universe opens its doors in 2025.
