Eman Esfandi Has Been Cast To Play Ezra Bridger In Live-Action 'Star Wars', Starting With 'Ahsoka'

If you only look around, you will be found. Beloved Star Wars Rebels protagonist Ezra Bridger is officially coming to live-action Star Wars, and exactly where you’d expect.
When we last saw the former Jedi Padawan, he managed to help free his home from Empire rule in the Liberation of Lothal but was taken through hyperspace with Admiral Thrawn by the purrgil, a type of space whale. Even by the end of the Battle of Endor a few years later, bringing the complete toppling of the Empire, Ezra still hadn’t been found, so Ghost crewmate Sabine Wren and ally Ahsoka Tano set off to find him. By the events of The Mandalorian, Ahsoka (now played by Rosario Dawson) still hadn’t found him. Now, in her series, while plot details are still slim, it seems she and Sabine, played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo, will reunite with him in their search for Thrawn. He will be played by Eman Esfandi, an actor who has appeared in several short films, but his most mainstream film is King Richard in a small role last year, though he also starred in 2019’s Red 11, a horror film directed by Robert Rodriguez. Hopefully, no matter how big his presence in Ahsoka is, it’ll be just the start of Ezra’s presence in live action for the franchise after a 5-year absence.
Of course, being such a popular character, Ezra was subject to many fan castings. The top pick, as is well documented, was 2019’s Aladdin remake star Mena Massoud, who had struggled to find follow-up gigs. He even played along with the fan casting, posting fanart to his Instagram account. Today, he found himself excited to see it all calm and congratulated Eman Esfandi on the casting.
