Eman Esfandi Gives An Emotional Reaction About His Portrayal Of Ezra Bridger In 'Ahsoka'
Ezra has been found! Well, sort of. The latest Ahsoka trailer, released during this year’s Star Wars Celebration, showed the public a glimpse at the character. Actor Eman Esfandi, who will play Ezra in the series (to what extent has not been revealed so far) tweeted about his presence in the trailer. Esfandi made a rather funny comment about his participation because it was limited to a brief live-action hologram shot of him in full costume. His comment points to some interesting easter eggs for Star Wars: Rebels.
Esfandi joked that he had no actual lines in the trailer, but was happy to be in it. He also remembered the public that Ezra sometimes used the name “Jabba the Hutt” to try to deceive Imperial authorities. Agent Kallus knew that Ezra used his name though, which probably just made things even funnier - and messier. Esfandi also mentions Spectre-6, Ezra’s callsign in the Ghost crew. Since he was the last one to join, he gets a bigger number.

From the looks of it, Esfandi could be a huge part of the series later on. Ahsoka will likely feature our favorite Rebels characters’ adventures and trials to find the heir to the Empire himself, Thrawn. The public last saw Thrawn in Rebels’ finale, who disappeared along with Ezra and a bunch of Purrgil. The series is probably going to show how Thrawn came back from wherever he was, and Ahsoka, Sabine, and Hera will try to find him to thus locate Ezra.
The show will feature Rosario Dawson as our beloved Jedi Ahsoka Tano as the protagonist. Natasha Liu Bordizzo will play Sabine Wren with her Phoenix squadron partner, Hera Syndulla, played by Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Other confirmed characters so far are Esfandi (Ezra Bridger), Hayden Christensen (Anakin Skywalker), Ray Stevenson (Baylan Skoll), and Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati). Oh, and last but not least: Lars Mikkelsen, who voiced Thrawn in the animated series is coming back, this time in live-action.
Ahsoka will premiere in August 2023.
