Don't Expect The Scarlet Witch: New MCU Timeline Book Reveals Her Fate
Many MCU fan-favorite characters have suffered extreme losses, Wanda Maximoff being a prime example of one of the saddest. After all, she lost her parents, then her brother, followed by her soulmate. Because all she wanted was her children, many fans found it difficult to see her as a villain and have held out hope for the Scarlet Witch to return to the MCU. It is notable, though, that the children came with the fantasy world she created during WandaVision in Westview, New Jersey. This was, of course, her effort to get the life she wanted with Vision.
Wanda’s descent to the antagonist in Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness revolved around her desire for the family she lost, the hardest of all being her children, Billy and Tommy. Ironically it is Billy and Tommy’s reaction to her presence that pulls the blinders off for her to realize her mistakes and take the steps to fix them. The boys crying out for their mother prompt her to destroy Wundagore and every copy of the Darkhold throughout the multiverse. The new MCU timeline book, Marvel Studios: The Marvel Cinematic Universe: An Official Timeline, has confirmed that the character dies on Mount Wundagore.
