From the D23 Expo, plenty of announcements have come. Among them is Frozen 3 being confirmed for a 2027 release. As part of the Disney Animation section of the Entertainment showcase, Jennifer Lee, Disney’s chief creative officer, revealed a piece of development art for the new movie created by Britney Lee. That art shows Elsa and Anna riding a white horse and a brown stag respectively.

The world of Arendelle first appeared in 2013, when the first Frozen smashed its way to success with a tale of love. And a gale of catchy songs that seemed everywhere, including Oscar-winning song Let It Go. In 2019, Frozen 2 arrived to expand Arendelle, with an adventure to new locations of the world. There are plenty more ideas to fit into Arendelle, as Bob Iger confirmed not long after the announcement of Frozen 3 last year a fourth was also in development.

Jennifer Lee again writes this third outing of the Frozen series. The voice cast, including Idina Menzel as Elsa and Kristen Bell as Anna, are to reprise their roles. The first Frozen became the fifth highest-grossing film of all time when it was released in 2013. It currently sits at number 22, with its sequel sitting at number 14. This third Frozen could potentially claim the highest-grossing in the franchise when it releases in 2027.
