Disney Releases A New 'Pinocchio' Trailer Ahead Of Its Disney+ Day Release
One of the earliest films in the Disney animated canon is set to release as a live-action film on Disney+ Day. September 8, 2022. Pinocchio tells the story of a puppet who dreams of becoming a real boy, but various temptations and villainous characters stand in his way. The Blue Fairy appoints Jiminy Cricket as his conscience as Pinocchio learns to navigate life.
Today, Disney released a new trailer for the movie. The trailer opens with Stromboli announcing Pinocchio as the eighth wonder of the world. Pinocchio’s CGI design looks like it has been lifted straight out of the cartoon. Jiminy Cricket appears with a similar outfit and shinier skin. The blue fairy’s costume is achieved with a mixture of a shiny blue dress and CGI wings and sparkles. Unlike previous remakes, the CGI seems to blend in seamlessly with the live-action elements instead of being a distraction.

Geppetto, the Blue Fairy, and Jiminy Cricket urge Pinocchio to be brave, truthful, and unselfish. The final shot shows Pinocchio’s nose growing longer after he tells a lie.
From the looks of the trailer, the movie will follow the same basic plotline as the original animated film with an all-new cast.
