Since its premiere in January 2020, fans of all ages have tuned in to watch episodes of one of Disney’s most unique series, The Owl House. While the show’s darker qualities, intense action scenes, and LGBTQIA+ representation brought a wide demographic to the show, the company decided it didn’t fit the brand.

Series creator Dana Terrace claimed the company cited the serial storytelling and an audience older than their target demographic. As a result, The Owl House comes to a close with a short three-episode season. Even with its shortened run, The Owl House proved it wasn’t afraid to take risks with some important reveals during the middle and end of the second seasons.

The Season 3 premiere “Thanks to Them” aired in October 2022, while the second episode “For the Future” arrived this January. To make up for the shortened season, Disney allowed the episodes to run 44 minutes instead of the usual 24-minute runtime. Now, fans are preparing for a special 55-minute finale called “Watching and Dreaming.” The final will air on April 8 on Disney Channel at 9 PM EST. While waiting on the series’ exciting conclusion, fans can rewatch every episode on Disney+.
