Disney Announces Galactic Starcruiser Interactive Hotel Will Be Closing In September
One of Disney’s most ambitious experiments has come to an end. After little more than a year of being open, the Galactic Star Cruiser will be closing after its voyage from September 28th-30th.
Disney, in an official statement, has said “Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is one of our most creative projects ever and has been praised by our guests and recognized for setting a new bar for innovation and immersive entertainment. This premium, boutique experience gave us the opportunity to try new things on a smaller scale of 100 rooms, and as we prepare for its final voyage, we will take what we’ve learned to create future experiences that can reach more of our guests and fans.”

The two-night hotel stay in Orlando, Florida has taken some flack from fans, many sighting the price for a group, ranging from $4,800 for two to $6000 for a group of 4. As of now, the cruiser can not be booked, as Disney is rescheduling those who booked their experience for after the current close date. Disney has said they are going to reach out to those who booked in October or later in order “to discuss their options and modify their plans.” Bookings to the public will reopen on May 26th.
