In a surprise final reveal to the stream hosted by Destiny developer Bungie going over the details of their next content drop, Star Wars cosmetics and items are coming to Destiny 2.

While initially quite rare in the history of Destiny 2, collaborations between Bungie and other brands for content within the looter shooter have been picking up in the last few years. November of 2023 was The Witcher, February of 2024 saw BioWare’s Mass Effect, May of 2024 was D&D, and most recently, a crossover with Street Fighter 6 each brought items in the form of cosmetics, vehicles, and Ghost Shells (Ghosts being the hovering little mechanical companion to every player’s character) to the game.

This new collaboration with Star Wars is one of the biggest franchises yet and reaches outside of the gaming sphere to introduce outfits inspired by Deathtroopers, Stormtroopers, and the Emperor’s Royal Guards. Alongside this are a Ghost Shell, emotes, and a new ship, a collection of goodies many fans of both franchises are sure to purchase.

This collaboration also represents the most recent branching out at Lucasfilm Games (the official partner of the Destiny 2 partnership) into partnership with other gaming companies. Fortnite has been the main beneficiary of such efforts for a long time now but this Destiny 2 announcement might suggest more gaming collaboration announcements are on the way.

The new cosmetics for Destiny 2 arrive February 4th, alongside Act 1 of Episode: Heresy!
