While it might seem that the SAG-AFTRA strike has ended, it does not equate to the immediate return of long-awaited films, television shows, and other productions. The Deadpool saga is one of the most anticipated sequels in the MCU, or at least MCU adjacent. According to Culture Crave's X page, the film's release has been delayed once again in the wake of the SAG-AFTRA strike.

For the past year, the release date for the third Deadpool movie has been pushed back from its original May 3 theatrical release. With the film reportedly “half-finished”, Deadline states, “there’s too much to do in regard to re-assembling the crew” and choosing a release date that will guarantee box office success equivalent to Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’s $859.2 million worldwide and Thor: Ragnarok’s $855.3 million worldwide.

Deadpool 3’s director Shawn Levy is using the extra time to ensure he “doesn’t mess with the DNA of the [Deadpool] franchise”. Levy also credits the latest installment of Deadpool as “raw, audacious, and very much rated R”. No matter what, the audience will be prepared for a “grounded” and “real” film with the star powers that are Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds in their most iconic roles.
