‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Casts Nikki M. James

The cast for Matt Murdock’s comeback series is growing, in a way that further paints just how changed the character’s life will have become between the two series. Daredevil: Born Again has cast Nikki M. James in an undisclosed role, as details are not being shared and Marvel chose not to comment.

James is a Tony-winning actress, for Best Featured Actress in a Musical. She did so as Nabalungi in The Book of Mormon, having originated the role. Onscreen, she appears in the film Spoiler Alert and television series such as Severance and Proven Innocent, and has also directed TV episodes for shows such as The Good Fight.

Her casting in Daredevil: Born Again adds her to an ensemble that includes Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva and Sandrine Holt. Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin continues to be the sole other confirmed carryover aside from Charlie Cox as the title character from the original Netflix series, which ran for three seasons from 2015 to 2018.

The series, formatted as a courtroom drama, is written and executive produced by Matt Corman and Chris Ord and is set to premiere in 2024, with buildup from appearances by Kingpin and Daredevil across Hawkeye, Spider-Man: No Way Home, She-Hulk: Attorney At Law, and the upcoming Echo.
