Dafne Keen Confirms She Will Be Filming Her Scenes’ In ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ Until Next April
“Always two there are, no more no less.” This throwaway line by Yoda in The Phantom Menace has had huge world-building implications for what the Sith were like before Episode I and even served as the main point of Darth Bane’s story. This will be expanded upon in the upcoming show The Acolyte, which will examine how the Sith infiltrated the Jedi order and the Republic. A series that Defne Keen will be focusing on until April.
Keen, known for playing Wolverine’s daughter Laura in the 2017 movie Logan, stated that she will be filming the Star Wars series for the next few months. Given that the series started filming last month and will be wrapping up production in May, she will be present for a large portion of filming, implying her role will be relatively prominent. She also stated in a recent interview that although she can’t release much information, she said that it takes place “100 years before the prequel movies,” which would set it at the time of the High Republic, right as the Jedi start to realize dark powers are emerging in the galaxy. In addition, it will focus on the Sith as the main characters, which is contradictory to most Star Wars lead shows and movies, which tend to focus on more heroic characters rather than villainous ones.
The series will also star Lee Jung-Jae, Amandla Stenberg, and Dean Charles Chapman. Its expected release date on Disney+ is early 2024, although an official announcement has yet to be made. The show will be made up of eight episodes.
