Recently, there has been a huge amount of information revealed about the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog 3 film. We now know that Jim Carey is set to return as the mad scientist Dr. Ivo “Eggman” Robotnik, and some new actors will be joining the cast as well. Also, we got a look at the finalized logo for the film, with it resembling that of Sonic Adventure 2. In fact, eagle-eared fans may have noticed some familiar notes in the teaser trailer. The logo was backed by an orchestrated version of the theme from the aforementioned game, “Live and Learn.”

While some may have thought this was just for the trailer, Crush 40, the band behind the iconic song, confirmed that the song will be present in the film. However, it seems that contrary to earlier reports, the band’s involvement stops at the inclusion of the song. Lead singer Johnny Gioeli told Tails Channel that, "It’s in. To what degree? I don’t know…But Paramount has it 100 percent.”

While this does put a slight damper on those who may have expected it to be confirmed that Crush 40 is involved in the film, the song’s inclusion is a milestone in itself. Whether it is the original, and orchestrated version, or a remix, however, is yet to be seen. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is set to speed into theaters on December 20th of this year!
