Percy Jackson and the Olympians season two is in production now, and some additional cast members have been announced. When season one of Percy Jackson aired on Disney+ in December 2023, it had been about nine months after Lance Reddick’s untimely passing. Reddick played Zeus, a character who would be vital for seasons to come, as each season is meant to follow each novel of Rick Riordan’s series.

So much of the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians celebrates Reddick, with the finale episode honoring his legacy. Dan Shotz, Percy Jackson co-showrunner, has explained that “finding someone to step into this role going forward was not an easy task, but when icon Courtney B. Vance answered the call, we knew the Gods were listening.” Vance is thrilled to be joining the cast and expressed that he will do Reddick justice in his continuation of Zeus.

Other actors to join leads Walker Scobell (Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover) in Percy Jackson this season, include Andra Day as Athena, Daniel Diemer as Tyson, and Timothy Simons as Tantalus. Tamara Smart will join the cast as Thalia, one of Zeus’ children; Smart had previously played Reddick’s daughter in 2022’s Resident Evil, making her addition a sweet tribute to him. Sandra Bernhard, Margaret Cho, and Kristen Schaal have also been cast as the Gray Sisters. Percy Jackson will be back on Disney+ for season two in 2025.
