Could Marvel's 'Agatha: Coven Of Chaos' Release In 2023?

A lot of speculation has been happening around the release of Agatha: Coven of Chaos. If it was previously stated on several websites - including Disney's - that the series would premiere in late 2023, this info has been backtracked or altogether removed.

According to the portal What’s On Disney Plus, this could be the result of the number of movies that Marvel announced for its phases 4 and 5. Since it is unlikely that Disney reschedules a movie in favor of a series, lots of projects could be moved around in the next few years so it creates a generous gap for Disney’s cash cows. The portal also mentions that D23’s website didn’t comment on the series being part of the 2023 slate. The Japanese Disney website could give the public a clue about what is to come. They published an article mentioning the show as premiering in 2023, but this information has been removed from the article.

Indeed, it is true that Marvel has superseded expectations from the public with the incredible amount of movies and series that were announced for the following phases of the MCU. But, this does not mean that they should have a pass for mismanaging - even by a small margin - an already tight calendar for 2023 and 2024. Disney has already done this in the past and it worked out in their favor, but this could lead to even bigger changes down the line for them.

According to Screenrant, there are, along with Agatha, another seven projects set to debut on Disney+ throughout the year. Agatha: Coven of Chaos will feature Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness once again, first seen in WandaVision as the “puppeteer” that was controlling some of the events. Emma Caulfield also returns from Wandavision, playing Sarah Proctor, one of Westview’s residents. Aubrey Plaza has been cast in the series, but her character has not been announced yet. It remains to be seen whether Agatha: Coven of Chaos ends up with a 2023 release.
