Could Guillermo Del Toro's 'Frankenstein' Find Its Star For The Netflix Film In Either Oscar Issac, Mia Goth, Or Andrew Garfield?
At last week’s Oscars, Guillermo del Toro took home the award for Best Animated Feature for his work on Pinocchio. Following his win news has come out about what may be coming next for del Toro. According to Deadline, stars Andrew Garfield, Oscar Isaac and Mia Goth are in early talks to star in del Toro’s Frankenstein which will be on Netflix. Del Toro is set to write and direct this feature film.
While sources close to the production of the film indicate that del Toro is still working on the script and no offers have been made to any of the stars, those same sources indicate that Del Toro has met with all three of the actors and each is on board. Making a Frankenstein film has long been something that del Toro has wanted to do. Little is known about the film overall including whether del Toro would tell the classic Mary Shelley story in its original period or in modern times. It is also not known at this point who would play Doctor Frankenstein or his creation, but it is believed at this time that Goth would be playing the doctor’s love interest.

Netflix declined to comment on this report but the rumors about the possible cast certainly provide excitement. Issac is coming off an Emmy nomination for HBO’s Scenes from a Marriage while Garfield is coming off Emmy nominations of his own. Goth has also come off acclaimed performances in movies such as Pearl and Infinity Pool
