Christian Bale has starred in several noteworthy movies, including multiple franchises in recent years. Fans probably best remember Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” Batman trilogy, consisting of Batman Begins (2006), The Dark Knight (2008), and The Dark Knight Rises (2012). More recently, Bale played the villain, Gorr The Butcher, in the latest Thor film, Love and Thunder (2022). Bale recently expressed during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter yesterday that he would like to be in another major franchise in the future:

“All I ever wanted in Star Wars was to be in a Star Wars outfit and hit my head on a door or something as I walked through. The real nerds who watched Star Wars way too many times always knew about that one scene where the Stormtrooper hits his head on the door as he comes through. I wanted to be that guy. That was it. But look, if I’m fortunate enough to be more than that, oh man, yeah. What a delight that would be. I’ve still got the figures from when I was little. I also know Kathy Kennedy very well because she was working with Spielberg when I did Empire of the Sun, and now, she runs the Star Wars universe.”

Bale offers little indication of who exactly he would like to portray in the franchise, although he appears interested and willing to play just about anybody (even a clumsy Stormtrooper) just to get into a Star Wars costume. With multiple live-action and animated Star Wars series continuing to be developed, more and more famous actors and actresses like Michael Biehn, Rosario Dawson, and Christopher Lloyd are finding their way into the franchise. With Bale’s oozing enthusiasm and nerdiness about Star Wars, it does not seem hard to imagine that Bale will eventually get his wish sometime in the future, especially given his connections with Lucasfilm’s CEO, Kathleen Kennedy. We will continue to watch this story with great interest.
