Bob McGrath, One Of The Original Human Stars Of 'Sesame Street' Passed Away At Age 90
In a world where the stars of our childhood seem to be passing away at a rapid pace, we have an event that hits plenty of generations very hard. Bob McGrath, known for playing Bob Johnson on the Children’s show Sesame Street from 1969 until 2016, past away yesterday at the age of 90.
His family made the announcement yesterday over Facebook. "The McGrath family has some sad news to share. Our father Bob McGrath, passed away today. He died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family."

McGrath’s time on the show started with the premiere, in November 1969, and stayed on until he, Emilio Delgado, and Roscoe Orman, were taken out of the line-up in 2016 by HBO.
Before his time on the beloved children’s show, which was watched by millions of young kids worldwide, especially those aged 3-5. Many children recall this as the show that taught them plenty about the letters of the alphabet, as well as numbers. Bob grew up in Illinois. He studied music at both the University of Michigan and the Manhattan School of Music before joining the cast of the show, where he remained for almost 50 years.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Ann Logan Sperry, and their five children, Liam, Robert, Alison, Lily, and Cathlin, his sister Eileen, and eight grandchildren.
