Pouring one’s blood, sweat, and tears into besting a game has never been so literal. Entertainment company Blizzard recently announced the release of a PC “infused” with real human blood.

Blizzard, the company behind fan-favorite games like World of Warcraft, is rolling out a bloodcurdling new promotion for the recently released Diablo IV, appropriately titled “Blood Harvest”. Until November 20, all US players over the age of 18 can submit proof of blood donation from any clinic to be added to an online tally (animated, fittingly, as a blood fountain). The company’s end goal is to reach 666 quarts of blood donated.

As milestone donation amounts are reached, all players, regardless of donation, will unlock in-game rewards to level up their gameplay. Milestone rewards include Bloodpetal and armor cosmetics, as well as a horse that will be available to all players once the donation goal is fully reached.

But the most sensational (and bewildering) reward for achieving the blood donation goal is the chance to enter a sweepstakes for a PC infused with real human blood. The website describes the console as a “custom liquid cooled” PC, in Diablo’s signature red and black color scheme.  While Blizzard’s website does specify how the blood will be infused, this newest stunt will surely serve as the lifeblood for Diablo IV’s continued success.

Diablo IV is available on PlayStation 4 PlayStation 5 Windows Xbox One Xbox Series X/S.
