Benedict Cumberbatch And His Family Were Home When Their House Was Attacked By An Angry Chef
Benedict Cumberbatch, best known for playing Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Strange, found himself on the defense when a man wielding a fish knife attacked the actor’s London home. Cumberbatch’s wife and three children were present at the time. The attacker removed a plant from the garden and threw it at the wall. Then, he spat at an intercom and attacked it with his fish knife.
Before the incident, the attacker was seen purchasing pita bread from a local shop and announced his plans to attack the Marvel actor and burn his house down. Thanks to DNA found on the intercom, the man was later identified as Jack Bissel, a former chef at London’s Mayfair Beaumont Hotel.
Bissel was served a £250 fine and a three-year restraining order that prevents him from approaching Cumberbatch, his family, or their area of residence. Cumberbatch has not publicly commented on these events. However, the actor did express interest in playing Doctor Strange again and highlighted the character’s complexities, “He is such a brilliant character and I’m still having a wild time playing him.”
While waiting for Cumberbatch’s return to the MCU, fans can see him in the upcoming adventure comedy The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar and the satirical Bible film The Book of Clarence. The actor also has a starring role in The End We Start From, a survival film about a flooded London.
