Aubrey Plaza Joins The MCU As A Villain in 'Agatha: Coven of Chaos‘
She has been the secret protagonist of the first MCU series on Disney+ "all along". So much so that Marvel decided to give her her own spin-off show: Agatha Harkness. Wanda Maximoff's first friend, and then foe, "Agnes" will return late next year in Agatha: Coven of Chaos as part of MCU’s Phase 5. Kathryn Hahn will reprise her role as the titular witch, as will Emma Caulfield Ford, playing the role of Dottie, another resident of the peaceful yet imaginary town Westview.
Now Aubrey Plaza has joined the show's cast in a yet unknown role. The actress is best known for her roles in Parks and Recreation (2009 - 2015) and Legions (2017 - 2019). More recently, she lends her voice to the animated sitcom Little Demon and played in the romantic comedy thriller Spin Me Around.

Marvel hasn’t released anything regarding the premise and the story of Agatha: Coven of Chaos, other than it is described as a "dark comedy".
At the end of WandaVision Agatha Harkness, who had tried to steal Maximoff's magic, was defeated by the Scarlet Witch and forced to stay inside the artificial world of Westview that Wanda had created for her husband Vision and her twins.
Agatha's character differs significantly from her portrayal in the comics. Though being a very powerful witch there as well, she acted more like a mentor for Wanda and her kids and not as a villain. So it is hard to assess what will happen in Coven of Chaos from her fate in the comics, where Agatha had died and spent quite some time as a ghostly figure, still helping Wanda, before she regained her corporeal form. As she had worked for the Fantastic 4 in the comics, this might be a segway to introduce these characters into the MCU.
WandaVision also included some flashbacks to the year 1693, depicting Agatha's killing of her coven to gain the power of the other witches of Salem. The show's name could imply that some events might happen there, but Ford's character Dottie also makes it plausible that at least some of the action will still occur in Westview.
Like WandaVision, Agatha: Coven of Chaos will be written and produced by Jac Shaeffer.
