Anjelica Huston Returns For 'John Wick' Spinoff Titled 'Ballerina'
After the announcement of the return of Keanu Reeves as the legendary assassin John Wick in the first John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, it’s now time for Anjelica Huston to make a return- she is coming back to reprise her role as The Director.
This spin-off will focus on Ballerina (Ana De Armas), a female assassin trained by the Ruska Roma, who promised to bring vengeance upon those who killed her family. With Reeves and Huston joining the ranks, as well as Ian McShane reprising his role as Winston, this spin-off is set to provide us with more insight into this world of assassins, this time through the eyes of Armas’ character.

Huston’s ‘Director’ is probably the character that was the most likely to make the jump from the original movies to the spin-off. First seen in John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum, Huston’s The Director is a crime lord who is in charge of the Ruska Roma in New York City, the crime organization in which Ballerina learned how to dance and kill. She is also known for being the mother figure of John Wick, who trained within the walls of her organization. When we last saw The Director, she was stabbed through both hands with a katana by Zero as an act of allegiance towards the Adjudicator, who killed most of her men. All that because she helped John Wick escape the city to Casablanca.
Now, we can wonder what role will have Armas’ Ballerina in John Wick’s big picture. Especially if they’re adding such big characters from the original movies. Hopefully, we’ll learn a little bit more about the character of Ballerina in the next John Wick 4 on March 2023. Who knows?
Ballerina is currently in production in Prague and does not have an official release date yet. In the meantime, here’s the trailer for John Wick 4:
