The first season of the Disney+ series Ahsoka saw a fair bit of success and left fans wanting more. The timeline of the second season was unclear, as, following the announcement, there were very few updates. According to IndieWire, production for the second season will begin in April 2025. Not only is production going to start soon, but the series’ film location is moving to the U.K. from Los Angeles, California as well.

While filming in L.A., the series’ creators utilized the “volume stage” technology created by Industrial Light & Magic called StageCraft. This approach to content production relies heavily on computer-generated imagery, having the set in a large, boxed-in space where the walls display the relevant volume. With production potentially moving to the U.K., the approach will be different, with a more practical angle and less focus on technological recreation.

The first season of Ahsoka saw the titular character begin to handle a new threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire. Grand Admiral Thrawn was trapped in another galaxy by Ezra Bridger, and there was concern he would come back and revamp the Empire; unfortunately, the Chiss managed to break back into the original galaxy and stranded Ahsoka and Sabine Wren in the other galaxy.

Plot specificities for the second season are being kept tightly under wraps, though when it was officially announced, the content featured both Ahsoka and Sabine with the caption, "The story continues…”  Knowing where the first season left off, the duo’s situation will develop in some form. While you wait for the second season of Ahsoka to release, a variety of Star Wars content, including the first season of the series and Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, are available to stream on Disney+.
