'Ahsoka' Pays Loving Tribute To The Late Ray Stevenson

The first two Ahsoka episodes have dropped and with them, a poignant tribute to one of the stars of the new series. Ray Stevenson made a commanding debut in Ahsoka as dark Jedi Baylan Skoll. Sadly, Ray passed away in May 2023 at age 58 in Ischia, Italy while filming on location for Cassino on Ischia. His death is not only a loss for the show but for the cast, fans, and family who loved him. Ahsoka is one of Ray Stevenson’s last performances.

Ray Stevenson had a thriving career that was cut short. He had major roles in hit series such as Vikings and Das Boot, and he was a recurring character in Marvel’s Thor movies. Ahsoka isn’t the first time that Ray Stevenson went head-to-head with Sabine Wren. Ray also voiced Gar Saxon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels and the character clashed with Clan Wren on numerous occasions.

“For our friend, Ray” appears at the end of episode one of Ahsoka, dedicating the premier to the popular cast member, most of whom posted heartwarming social media photos and tributes (Rosario Dawson, Ivanna Sakhno, etc.). It’s a fitting dedication, as he was one of the standouts.
