After many years of hard work, Adam Sandler gets the recognition he deserves. Sandler has been named the winner of the 24th Mark Twain Award for American Humor.

The Mark Twain Prize aims to “recognize individuals who have had an impact on American society in ways similar to the distinguished 19th-century novelist and essayist Samuel Clemens, best known as Mark Twain" according to the Kennedy Center.

Adam Sandler was criticized throughout the years for his work. We all have seen at least one of his movies and, even though they are not any kind of masterpiece they are still funny and entertaining.

The quality of the storylines or the production of the movies may not be something deserving of high praise, however, the movies as wholes provide us with entertaining moments, funny characters, and good times. As the Kennedy Center President Deborah F. Rutter stated, "Adam has created characters that have made us laugh, cry, and cry from laughing."

“Maybe we shouldn't read this stuff because it's so harsh," Sandler stated regarding the horrible critics he read about Billy Madison (1995). He recalled this and the feeling revolving around his first movies and critics during a Netflix conversation regarding his most recent movie Hustle (2022), a dramedy for which he received tons of recognition and praise from the critics.

The critic was kinder to Adam Sandler this time, all with good reason. His performance in Hustle allows us to see what an amazing actor he is. “I’m glad I’m getting praise, I’ll take it, but everybody worked hard on the movie,” the comedian said, “I had a great part and I did the best I could with it.”

There is no doubt Sandler deserves the prize, after years of hard work, despite all the terrible critics and haters. After years of hard work, he is finally getting recognition for his performances and no one can take away from him the prize or the amazing memories he has created for all his fans with his movies.
