Adam Sandler Voices A 74-Year-Old Lizard In A New Animated Netflix Film 'Leo'
Get ready to view the world from an elementary school class pet’s eyes in Leo (2023). Adam Sandler voices the titular character Leo, an elementary school class lizard who discovers he doesn’t have much longer to live. When the substitute teacher decides each student will take turns bringing the class pets home, Leo plans an escape to live the rest of his life on the outside. Plans change, and he finds a new purpose in helping the students along in their personal lives. The trailer for this Netflix film captures the spirit of a class pet while artfully playing on the “animals can talk and keep it a secret from humans” trope. Check it out below!
This new trailer gives a basic premise for Leo’s life, from when he entered the classroom in 1949 to the present day. Sandler’s character is set up for a range of adventures, from serving up life advice on the fly to having a Godzilla moment in a brick playset, and many things in between. Whether it’s due to the emotional message backing the film or the ominous prospect of “imminent death” Sandler’s character faces, this could easily become a tear-jerker under the comedy.
