A Video Game Based On 'A Quiet Place' Is Coming To Consoles And PC Later This Year
One of the most surprising recent horror hits has been John Krasinski’s 2018 A Quiet Place. Directed by and starring the Office star and his wife, Emily Blunt, the film tells the story of a family trying to live their lives in a world taken over by giant killer aliens who hunt using their hypersensitive hearing. With a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score and a 341 million dollar box office off of a 17 million dollar budget, the film was a giant success by any metric. Its sequel which came out in 2020 saw similar success, with a 91% critical approval rating and a nearly 300 million dollar box office. With a prequel film, A Quiet Place: Day One set to be released in 2024, it’s clear that we’ll not be wanting for Quiet Place media.
And that extends past the silver screen.
It has been announced that a video game based on the movies, called A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will be released later this year. It’s, as one would expect, a survival horror game where you play as a young woman who has to navigate the post-apocalyptic world infested with Death Angels. As one would expect, it’s not exactly a shoot-em-up. It appears to have nothing to do with the three films.
No concrete release date has been set. The game will be available for X-Box, PS5 and PC.
