A Trailer For 'Mufasa: The Lion King' Has Been Released
Disney’s fan-focused convention, D23, filled the weekend with updates, interviews, trailers, and announcements. During the convention, the official trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King was released! The movie will tell the origin story of Mufasa, bringing fans something they haven’t seen before. It will be a photorealistic film similar to the 2019 reimagining of The Lion King.
The trailer opens with Simba’s daughter Kiara, Rafiki, Pumbaa, and Timón. Rafiki begins to tell the group how Mufasa and Scar, who used to be known as Taka, became who they were. Taka, the prince of his Pride, finds Mufasa floating down a river; while Taka’s mother is against bringing him to their group due to the king’s refusal to accept outsiders, Mufasa is allowed to follow them back. The two become as close as brothers over the years. They are told to “find their place in the circle of life,” but not too long after a rival Pride attempts to take control to become the sole leader. The closing portion of the trailer is a brief montage of events to follow in the movie, showing several characters, intense action, and one lion roaring assertively at the end. Check it out below!
