A Sneak Peek Of The ‘Star Wars’ Celebration London Art Show Has Been Revealed

A revered tradition is back this year for Star Wars Celebration Europe. The artwork lineup has just been revealed for Celebration 2023’s Art Show.
The Art Show brings together artists from many disciplines to lend their creative vision to iconic Star Wars characters and scenes. These original works are created especially for the Lucasfilm event and are only available to purchase in small quantities. This year’s offerings include original works inspired by all three trilogies of the Skywalker Saga and original shows like The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, and Star Wars: Rebels, to name a few.

Many fan-favorite characters shine in individual works. Frank Sansone’s The Straggler features Rey in a tarot card-inspired portrait. Ahsoka Tano shines in Cryssy Cheung’s A World Between Worlds. Of course, everyone’s favorite tiny green alien is the subject of several works, including Nick Scurfield’s Academy BFF’s and Shyla Lee’s Art Gro-Gu.
Some depict beautifully rendered interpretations of famous scenes, like Leia’s fateful message to Obi-Wan in My Only Hope by Tricia Benson and Obi-Wan and Quigon’s duel with Darth Maul in We’ll Handle This by Brandon Kenney.

Some, however, are entirely original. For example, in Protectors by Al Abbazia, a young boy holds his puppy in one arm and a wooden sword in the other while he gazes at his reflection in a store window. The image reflected back, however, is not of himself but of the Mandalorian brandishing the darksaber and holding Grogu. Works such as these highlight the deep love creators and fans alike have for these storylines and characters.
All 2023 Star Wars Celebration Europe Art Show prints are limited to 250 pieces. 200 pieces of each work will be available for pre-order at the Expo on DarkInkArt.com, starting March 10 at 12:00 PM PT and closing on March 20 at 12:00 PM PT. The remaining 50 pieces will be available to purchase onsite.
