A Sneak Peek Of 'The Mandalorian' Marvel Comics Adaptation Ahead Of Its Release This Week

The Mandalorian Season 3 currently has a release date of February 2023, but that does not mean we have to wait for new content of the fan-favorite bounty hunter. The Mandalorian and the Child return in Marvel’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian #1, which releases this Wednesday, July 13th, 2022. Ahead of its release, StarWars.com has released the first few pages of the new comic series.

The comic adaptation will be an eight-issue series retelling of each episode of the popular Disney+ Star Wars Series. Artist Georges Jeanty discussed his work in the comic series:

Star Wars, especially where bounty hunters are concerned, is a messy landscape. I love drawing all the little details. My look has always [been] detail-oriented, and with The Mandalorian, there is so much going on with the character and in the background, and I look forward to adding visually to the already rich tapestry that makes up this universe!"

Writer Rodney Barnes shared the same sentiment:

“…it's a dream gig for any writer. I'm just glad I was chosen for this assignment!"

The first issue begins with the eponymous Mandalorian, clad in beskar, on his mission to capture Mythrol on the Outer Rim planet Pagodon. During his collection, however, Mando got into a little fight in the cantina. Like in the television series, Mando collected his hard-earned bounty as he said his famous “I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold” line. So far, the released pages look true to the show.

I can bring you in warm or I can bring you in cold

I love the art style we are seeing so far from the preview pages and what I’ve seen in the first issue (with a cool variant cover) that I was lucky enough to get my hands on early. I am super excited about this series, and how they have adapted it to the comic medium. This will be enough The Mandalorian content to hold me over until Season 3 releases in February 2023.
