A Sequel To 'Election' Called 'Tracy Flick Can't Win' Will Be Coming To Paramount+ Soon
Fans of the 1999 satirical Election film can rejoice as Reese Witherspoon is set to reprise her role in the upcoming sequel Tracy Flick Can’t Win. The film is based on Tom Perrotta’s novel of the same name, where Tracy finds herself working as an assistant principal at a high school in New Jersey. When her boss announces her retirement, Tracy seizes the opportunity and begins her ‘campaign’ for high school principal. A contention with her male colleagues brings back bad memories of her high school years. Tracy will have to conquer her past while chasing her future.
The original film Election saw Tracy competing against a high school jock for school president while her teacher Jim McAllister interferes with the election. The same director Alexander Payne will return to direct the sequel In addition to reprising her role, Witherspoon along with Lauren Neustadter will produce the film for Hello Sunshine. Fans of the actress can see her in The Morning Show on Apple TV+ and Netflix’s rom-com Your Place or Mine. She also made appearances in Big Little Lies, Little Fires Everywhere, and A Wrinkle In Time. Tracy Flick Can’t Win will release on Paramount+. At this time, the release date is still unknown.
