A 'Rick And Morty' Anime Has Been Confirmed And Will Come To Max Later This Year

Wubba lubba dub dub! More Rick and Morty is officially on the way as a new anime spinoff has been greenlit by Adult Swim. The series does not appear to involve Justin Roiland following his firing, but fans can rest assured that this series is in safe hands.
Takashi Sano will be directing the new series, and if the name doesn't ring a bell then his prior work with the series will. Sano previously directed two anime shorts for Rick and Morty, "Rick and Morty vs. The Genocider" and "Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)," which was met with widespread enthusiasm from the fan base. Casting has yet to be announced, though it's safe to assume that Yōhei Tadano will return as Rick and Keisuke Chiba will return as Morty.

Hopefully, this 10-episode anime will satisfy fans until Season 7 of Rick and Morty premieres, which will recast Roiland's roles as the titular character. The new anime, as reported by Deadline, "will be separate from the flagship series, but will adapt themes and events from the original title."
Rick and Morty: The Anime is set to premiere on both Adult Swim and HBO Max (soon to be Max). No release date has been announced.
