A New Leak Revealed That A Restoration of 'Dogma' Is Coming After The Rights Were Purchased From Harvey Weinstein
There’s a rumor that Dogma might finally see the light of day. It’s been unavailable for streaming or a new DVD run because it would involve partnering with Harvey Weinstein, who owns the distribution rights. Weinstein has flatly refused to sell. Filmmaker, Kevin Smith has made several attempts without success.
Hello, World!
However this week, A popular leak X account known as The President of Physical News Media posted on social media that the rights to Dogma have been bought from Weinstein. There was no detail about who they had been sold to or confirmation of a source.
RELATED:
Kevin Smith, despite being tagged in the comments by fans several times has not responded to the post or commented on his socials about the sale. Kevin Smith has been open in his contempt for Weinstein’s control of his creative work, and it is unlikely that he would not be the first person to celebrate if a deal had not already been stamped and approved. Did the leak account get it wrong, or are they still waiting for the ink to dry on the contract? Let’s hope it’s the second one.
If Dogma has been freed from Weinstein’s clutches, then it’s likely we will see a re-release, (the print will need to be cleaned up and put into 4K) DVD, cinematic, or a streaming service could pick it up. Stay tuned.
