Aside from writing an incredible amount about a fantasy world, and essentially becoming the father of the fantasy genre, J.R.R. Tolkien also wrote profusely to his friends, family, and acquaintances. Of course, this proliferation of writing began at a time even before the radio was common, but his hand never stopped writing through the many days of his life. Many of his letters were later compiled into a book, adorning the bookshelves of adoring fans the world over.

That book is now going to receive an expansion as more letters from the legend himself have been found. The new book will be over 700 pages, a massive jump from the original books 463 pages. Included in the new pages, this new edition will feature over 150 letters in their original typescript. They were removed from the earlier editions because of industry standards of publishing length.

The product description reveals that some of the new letters will reveal fresh information about Middle-earth, in addition to Tolkien’s plot summary for The Lord of the Rings. There will also be letters detailing an idea of his for a ‘Tales of The Three Ages’.

As of right now, there is only a listing for the release in the UK, though Amazon does ship internationally. The book is set to release for Tolkien fans’ shelves on November 9.
