A Look Inside The First Issue Of 'Thrawn: Alliances'

The 2018 novel Thrawn: Alliances will soon be coming to another medium. Thrawn: Alliances was a novel written by Timothy Zahn, as the second novel in the Thrawn trilogy, not to be confused with the legends material also written by Zahn in the early 90’s. The novel will soon be turned into a comic series which will be released on January 24th. The novel was a sequel to to 2017 novel Thrawn and is followed up by Thrawn: Treason, written in 2019. A prequel trilogy of books has since been written.

Thrawn: Alliances follows two separate plotlines. The first is an adventure during the Clone Wars which follows the titular character fighting alongside Anakin Skywalker. The second takes place between the third and fourth seasons of Star Wars Rebels. This plotline follows Thrawn working alongside Darth Vader, while Thrawn figures out that the Sith Lord is the Jedi that he fought alongside in the earlier plotline.

For those unfamiliar with the character of Thrawn, he is a Chiss who was exiled by his own people, who was recruited by the Empire and fought alongside them believing them to be the best chance to bring order to the galaxy. He made his live-action debut in the TV series Ahsoka. Below are some sneak preview images from the forthcoming first issue.
