The various production companies that are coming together with Millennium Media for this newest Hellboy reboot are Campbell Grobman Films, Darkhorse Comics, Darkhorse Entertainment, and Nu Boyana. The chosen director Brian Taylor is famous for his contributions to Mom And Dad, Gamer, and both Crank movies. Another example of his work can be found in several episodes of the darkly comedic series Happy!
“This is the first in the series of films that will captivate audiences in familiar (and new) ways. Brian Taylor is an expert across the board, and I couldn’t think of a better person to bring this story to life to show our audience this different and original Hellboy slate of films.” - Millennium Media’s President Jeffrey Greenstein at the EFM in Berlin (Quote from Deadline article)
The three-part comic series Hellboy: The Crooked Man by Mike Mignola depicts a younger Hellboy who has physically matured a little faster than his mind in the late 1950s, and he ends up hunting a demon that’s been effectively offering fiendish pacts of power to the people of the Appalachian Mountains. Those that are excited about more Hellboy content outside of the previous movies can look to the DarkHorse digital storefront or Amazon’s kindle library for instant access to the comics.
