Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft will premiere on Netflix later this month on October 10, 2024. The animated series is led by the voice talents of Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft, as well as Earl Baylon (Jonah) and Allen Maldonado (Zip). Showrunner and writer Tasha Huo paves the way for the show, with Crystal Dynamics and Legendary Television producing, among other companies. A new clip from the show dropped recently that brings up some questions and predictions about Lara Croft’s next explorations.

The newest Tomb Raider installment will focus on Lara Croft adventuring on her own, when she’s suddenly called home after a dangerous relic is stolen from Croft Manor. The official logline for Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft describes Lara’s newest story: “Her daring pursuit will take her on an adventure around the world and to the depths of forgotten tombs, where she will be forced to confront her true self, and decide just what kind of hero she wants to become.” Lara Croft will travel around the globe, making archaeological discoveries and uncovering mysterious secrets.

The iconic Tomb Raider franchise is in no hurry to slow down, with 20 video games developed since 1996. Tomb Raider I-III Remastered from the original 1990s video games was released back in February. On the horizon, there’s another series: Amazon Prime Video’s Tomb Raider was greenlit back in May, but no release date has been announced yet. Phoebe Waller-Bridge is connected to this project and it will be produced by Crystal Dynamics and Amazon MGM Studios. Additionally, Tomb Raider will release a board game, Tomb Raider: The Crypt of Chronos, coming to Kickstarter May 2025.
