All 300 Playable Characters In 'LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga' Confirmed
LEGO and Star Wars are like peanut butter and chocolate. Since the original LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game was released back on March 29, 2005, this odd collection of games parodying and simultaneously paying love and homage to the Star Wars galaxy has been consistently enjoyable and a treat for us Star Wars fans who are still kids at heart. But none of Traveller's Tales' previous LEGO Star Wars outings can compare to the massive size and ambition of their most recent upcoming venture LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Initially teased during Microsoft's conference back at E3 2019, this game has been sold as a LEGO retelling of the entire Skywalker saga from The Phantom Menace to The Rise of Skywalker. Despite the frequent delays moving the game's expected release date from 2019 to 2022, LEGO Star Wars fans remain excited for this latest entry in the series and its portrayal of Episodes I- IX, as well as surely a few bonus missions from other Star Wars films and properties.
The game's marketing has been greatly playing up the fact that it is set to be the biggest LEGO Star Wars game thus far. With expansive planets to explore and a considerable number of puzzles and side quests, the content and replay value of the title is sure to be enormous. Equally enormous is its cast of playable LEGO characters from across the Star Wars franchise that players will get to gradually unlock and use throughout the game's nine campaigns. Despite the efforts of Traveller's Tales to prevent any significant leaks onto the internet, people have still managed to post and upload various clips and screenshots from the game for the world to see. Among these people is Instagram user @1414FalconFan, who was able to secure a complete list of all the game's playable characters. As expected, the roster is impressively massive with 300 total characters confirmed, not counting any DLC or pre-release bonus characters. So rather than go through every single character in the game, I will simply list a couple of highlights from each category.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga is clearly a love letter to the Skywalker saga and the Star Wars galaxy as a whole. Building a game of this magnitude has not been an easy task. With the many aforementioned delays caused by outdated technology, disagreements with management, and tight working schedules leading to the crunch, the development of this game has been long and arduous. Hopefully, with the game's official release on April 5 of this year, the team behind it will get the recognition they deserve for the years of work they have poured into it. I also wish the best for the employees at Traveller's Tales and hope that they will finally be able to take a break after an undertaking as enormous as this game. LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga will be playable on PC, Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
