You don’t have to be a sports fan to know that the Olympic Games have entered their second week. While it has been a blast being able to keep up with all of the different sports on Peacock it can get a bit tiring if you are trying to watch it all day. So, if you’re like me and need a little break, but want to keep with the spirit of the event, here are five of the best Olympic-themed movies!

5. 'Stick It' (2006)

While this film doesn’t technically involve the Olympics it does center around the World Championship where the gymnasts can earn gold medals. It was written and directed by the writer of Bring it On, and in many ways is better! The film follows a young gymnast who has had many run-ins with the law after throwing away her gymnastics career a year earlier. After one final run-in she is given two options: accept her legal punishment or return to the world of gymnastics. This film has a great cast and is super underrated!

Stick It is available to rent on Apple TV.

4. 'Blades Of Glory' (2007)

Blades Of Glory

Okay, let’s be honest, this is not one of the best Olympic-themed movies, but it is one of the funniest sports movies ever made and it is centered around the Olympics which makes it perfect for this list. After two Olympic gold medalists are stripped of their medals and banned from the men’s figure skating singles they are forced to find another way to compete. They decide to enter the couples figure skating world, but soon learn that no one is willing to work with them. They are forced to put their differences aside and skate as partners to compete in the games. This film is offensive but hilarious and Will Ferrell and Jon Heder are the dream team no one knew we needed.

Blades of Glory is available to stream on Hulu

3. 'Race' (2016)

This film is one of two biographical films on this list. It follows the life of Jesse Owens, an African-American athlete who broke records by winning four gold medals in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games. This film shows the struggles that many African-American athletes have and still face as they compete to make their way to the Olympics. The cast for this film is outstanding with Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, and Jeremy Irons

Race is available to stream on Netflix.

2. 'Miracle' (2004)

This is the second biographical film on the list. This film follows the story of the “Miracle on Ice” that occurred during the 1980 Winter Olympics when the U.S. Men’s Hockey Team beat the heavily favored Soviet team. One of the best things about this film is that it focuses on the team as a whole including the coaches rather than just focusing on one athlete. It gives the film a unique vibe that you don’t get with most Olympic-themed films.

Miracle is available to stream on Disney+.

1. 'Cool Runnings' (1993)

I feel like this movie is a staple for all millennials, but on the off chance that you haven’t seen it, you need to run and watch it right now! The film is loosely based on the 1988 debut of the Jamaican national bobsleigh team at the winter Olympics. In the film, a former Olympian coaches a group of four young men who have never done bobsled. If you are looking for a film that has heart, but will also make you laugh then this is the one to watch.

Cool Runnings is available to stream on Disney+.
