Five Of The Many New Mysterious Canon Sith
Since the introduction of the Disney-era Star Wars canon, there have been references back to Sith Lords from what is now called Star Wars Legends, such as Darth Revan. However, there have been many more new and interesting Sith created by various authors operating in Star Wars canon over the years. Among the most notable is probably Charles Soule’s Darth Momin, but there have been others who are just as intriguing. Here to read are five notably new and canon Sith, each with their own importance and chance to appear in the future of Star Wars storytelling!
5. Darth Krall
First described in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost, Krall was once a Jedi Master named Radaki who disagreed with the notion that a Jedi should surrender their wealth and titles when part of the Order. He ultimately left the Jedi over this disagreement and became a member of the group who, after Dooku’s departure from the Jedi became the Lost Twenty. However, he later fell to the Dark Side, and had several notable conflicts or feats associated with him, such as the concerning note of him “taming the Nightmare Conjunction.”

The details created for this character, from his backstory to his appearance, all suggest that his creator, Cavan Scott, has a specific idea of what to do with them. Even if Krall’s exploits are all that get mentioned in the future of storytelling, this Sith has a compelling character arc laid out, from Jedi Master to Sith Lord, which is ripe for further exploration.
4. Darth Siberus
Darth Siberus was first mentioned in an exclusive version of the book Dark Legends, a collection of stories that still contain grains of truth in them. Siberus’ myth spoke of how she, as a Sith desiring to live forever, froze herself in carbonite but planted rumors of a beautiful princess in stasis so that she could be freed in the future. When she was woken up, she drained the person who had found her to restore her vitality before assessing the galaxy, but often deemed it unsuitable for her return, so the cycle began again.
However, Siberus was almost certainly real, as a Sith artifact called the Hand of Siberus appears in The High Republic Marvel comic run for Phase 2. This fearsome gauntlet was stored in a secret Jedi vault and was capable of draining the life force out of those it grasped. It was also a tool of corruption, but its new wielder in that era, Tey Sirrek, eventually overcame this challenge with the help of Jedi Master Vildar Mac. The Hand is now a tool being put to use in Phase 3 of The High Republic.
Returning to the Hand of Siberus’ likely creator though, Siberus’ cyclical nature of slumber and awakening means she is a character ripe to appear at multiple points in the galactic past, across different eras of history whenever Star Wars dives into the Old Republic era of canon. With her fearsome Hand, and dedication to persevering, she could be a powerful foe for any Jedi or other galactic hero to confront.
3. Darth Caldoth
Darth Caldoth was introduced to us through the storybook Myths and Fables, with a second story expanding on his infamy in Dark Legends. This Duros Sith is said to have possessed enormous power with many terrible acts credited to his name. One of the most notable, and the subject of the story told in Dark Legends, sees Caldoth imprison the minds of several Nightsisters within his own so that he could torture them for as long as he wished. This cabal of witches tried to mentally influence him for years following his desecration of Nightsister gravesites while seeking to learn their culture’s secrets. Yet, he got the upper hand on them, reversing their subtle link to his mind to trap them all instead.
Like other Sith of the storybooks, Caldoth was another real figure in the Star Wars galaxy. He is mentioned in passing by characters in-universe, his legend persisting even outside of the tales we have read, and his name is also attached to a bestiary of Sith warbeasts acquired and read by a young Dooku and Sifo-Dyas in the audio drama Dooku: Jedi Lost.
Caldoth represents a Sith we already know a good deal about. Should we ever go back in canon history, or even get more stories regarding some of the greatest Sith from the past, we should keep an eye out for the powerful figure that is Caldoth.
2. Darth Noctyss
Like Siberius and Caldoth, Noctyss is a Sith to originate in the storybooks. Her myth, as told in Dark Legends, speaks of an extremely powerful Sith who could have conquered the galaxy of her era to establish a permanent Sith Empire. Instead, she spent her time and resources devoted to trying to discover the secret to immortality. To this end, her forces raided planets with knowledge of genetics, a detail that fans might realize connects to Darth Sidious’ fixation on cloning as seen in The Bad Batch and other areas of the canon. Ultimately, Noctyss achieved a form of immortality after a trip to Exegol, but as a warped, shrunken creature, tricked into her new diminished state after she blindly followed the writings of a previous Sith. Noctyss is also notable for wielding a non-standard weapon. Her red blade curved into a sickle shape and appeared in the novel Shadow of the Sith, where it is prominently wielded by a possessed former Acolyte of the Beyond named Kiza.
As for her significance, the Noctyss story is quintessentially Sith and features many details in line with information the canon has been working to establish regarding Sith goals and priorities. Her unnaturally extended life, thanks to her theft and hoarding of knowledge, means she could appear in a broad period. Her substantial resources are also underlined in Dark Legends, and it would be interesting to see the opinions of other Sith on her use of them in such an all-consuming quest.
1. The Unknown Sith
This last Sith is probably the most fascinating figure on the list, as we know a lot about them, yet lack their most basic identifier: a name. This Sith only appears as imprinted memories on a piece of bled kyber crystal that falls into Luke Skywalker’s possession in the Marvel Star Wars (2020) comic run. Regardless, these memories are extremely intriguing. When Luke enters the crystal to heal it of its corruption, he initially struggles but he can connect to younger copies of the Sith Lord, echoes of his past childhood trauma and the suffering he’d endured while maturing which fueled his transformation into the Sith. While the process proceeds smoothly, Luke is interrupted when the adult copy angrily cuts into his work. This apparition is ultimately bested, healing the kyber crystal in the process and allowing Luke to return to the real world.
The Sith’s physical appearance is equally fascinating, with an unnaturally pale hue to his youthful face, yet constantly wearing ornate armor, which seems to cover an extensively scarred or warped body. This damage is visible thanks to the Sith’s hands and a comment by Charles Soule discussing the character on X.
Much like the first entry on this list, Krall, we have a story arc told to us in parts, but we also have visuals and a greater understanding of why this figure fell as they did. The humanity of the Sith’s youth contrasted against what they became as an adult creates a multifaceted villain that with any luck, will appear again soon to menace some future hero of the Jedi.
