Five Actors Who Should Show Up In The Marvel Cinematic Universe

With all the past and future Marvel movies, it's hard to believe that there are any actors left that haven’t been in a Marvel film in some way. Whether it is a tiny cameo like Jenna Ortega in Iron Man 3 or a more substantial role like John Krasinski in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, it feels like almost everyone has been involved with a Marvel show or movie. There are still a few people that haven’t gotten the call, so let's take a look at five actors that should appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

5. Melissa O’Neil

The up-and-coming actress is currently starring in ABC’s The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen where she has shown how complex of an actress she is. The series has truly pushed O’Neil to her limits with her ability to portray multiple characters at once including hero, villain, and victim. I think she would be amazing as a villain especially if she was paired up with one of our amazing female superheroes. She would also be great working alongside Florence Pugh as their energy would feed off each other, and they would take over any project they were in!

It seems like there is nothing this actor can’t do! In just the last few years, we have seen him in Narcos, The Mandalorian, The Last of Us, and Wonder Woman 1984. He has the ability to portray literally every type of character, making him perfect for the MCU. His villainous role in Wonder Woman 1984 was amazing, and it would be fantastic to see him as a villain in the MCU. However, I am hoping that we can see him take on a superhero role!

3. Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe is an outstanding actress and musician that is still not getting the recognition she deserves. She truly showed the depth of her acting abilities with the most recent Knives Out film where she portrayed multiple characters. The actress has voiced interest in joining the MCU as Storm which I think would be an amazing role for her! There are countless characters from the comics that she could portray in the next phases of the MCU, and I am keeping my fingers crossed that someone finally takes notice of her abilities!

2. Johnny Depp

While fans are begging the actor to return as Captain Jack Sparrow, I think it is time that he gets into a new type of film. As of right now, he has never portrayed a superhero or villain in the DCU or MCU which makes him the perfect candidate to bring a Marvel character to life. After seeing him in The Crimes of Grindelwald, we know that he plays an amazing villain, but it would be interesting to see him as a superhero or even an antihero. At this point, I would be excited to see the actor in anything after everything he has been through over the last few years.

1. Nicole Kidman

Nicole Kidman is a legendary actress who has starred in everything from musicals to horror films to the DCU. In the DCU, she has played Dr. Chase Meridian in Batman Forever and Queen Atlanna in Aquaman and its upcoming controversial sequel. She is underutilized in both roles and used mostly for her looks than her incredible acting abilities. As we enter a new phase in the MCU, I think she would be the perfect candidate for a villain. It is time to see her star in a superhero film, and the best way to do that would be to use her as a villain rather than the expected role of a hero.
