While there are plenty of classic anime series to watch over and over again like Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon, Bleach, Naruto, and countless others, one of the best things about the genre is that there are constantly new anime series being released across streaming platforms. Another great thing about anime is that since there are so many subgenres you are guaranteed to find something you will like. I have compiled a list of ten of the best new anime series and where you can find them! All ten are also available to stream in English dub or in the original Japanese language.

10. 'Buddy Daddies' (2023)

This is the only miniseries on this list, but when talking about the best new anime series you can’t leave it out! The show follows two assassins who are also best friends that inadvertently “adopt” a young girl while on a mission. What ensues is part chaos and all fun! There is a ton of action in this show, but a lot of it is pretty family friendly.

Buddy Daddies is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

9. 'My Love Story With Yamada-kun At Lv999' (2023)

My Love Story With Tamada-kun At Lv998

This is the perfect slice-of-life anime! It follows a young college student who gets into a computer game because of her boyfriend. After he meets someone new and breaks up with her, she decides to try to get him back through her knowledge of the game. Instead she ends up meeting a group of people that become friends and one of them becomes something more. This is a great show for fans of the grumpy and sunshine character romance trope. There is so much humor and heart in this show that you will be hooked from episode one.

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

8. 'A Sign Of Affection' (2024-Present)

A Sign Of Affection

This is one of the most beautiful and comforting anime series I have ever watched. The animation style and color is very soft and soothing for the eyes. The show follows a young college student who is deaf and struggling to deal with the stresses of being a college student in a big city. While struggling on the train she meets a beautiful stranger who quickly becomes an important part of her life and invites her into a world that she has never experienced before.

A Sign of Affection is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

7. 'Solo Leveling' (2024-Present)

In a world where portals and monsters threaten the lives of everyone in Japan, groups of hunters train to defeat them. When one of the weakest hunters sacrifices everything to save members of his group he is given the ability to level up in the real world like you can in a video game. This mysterious ability may help him, but it also comes with consequences when he doesn’t complete his missions.

Solo Leveling is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

6. 'Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End' (2023-Present)

This fantasy anime is perfect for fans of movies like The Lord of the Rings. The show follows elven mage Frieren as she navigates the world after realizing just how short the lives of humans are. She lives a fairly quiet life until she takes on a new apprentice and begins to fight demons and try to finish the job that she and her former group had started decades earlier. While there is action, this show is definitely a comfort show, and one that is great to watch if you’re having a bad day.

Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

5. 'Kaiju No. 8' (2024-Present)

This is the newest show on this list as it just started a few weeks ago. If you are a fan of movies about monsters like Godzilla then you are going to be obsessed with this series! In this world, monsters known as Kaiju are a common occurrence and an elite group known as the Defense Force do what they can to keep the monsters at bay. When a man working in Kaiju clean up helps protect his friend from an attack he soon finds himself thrust into a life or death situation. This show is hysterical and so much fun!

Kaiju No. 8 is available to stream on Crunchyroll.

4. 'Delicious In Dungeons' (2024-Present)

Delicious In Dungeons

This is one of my most favorite anime series ever! The show is perfect for any Lord of the Rings or Dungeons and Dragons fans. The show follows a group of explorers who are rushing back into a dungeon after one of their group mates is eaten by a dragon. They only have a set amount of time to reach the dragon before it has had time to digest their friend. Unfortunately, the group has very little money, no food, and almost no supplies which makes this journey even more dangerous. Thankfully, they meet someone early on who will not only teach them about the dungeon and the things that live within it, but he will also teach them how to cook and eat some of the monsters. This show is so cool and the food aspect really adds to the uniqueness of the show.

Delicious in Dungeons is available to stream on Netflix.

3. 'My Happy Marriage' (2023-Present)

My Happy Marriage

This is one of the most surprising anime series I have ever watched. I went into this show completely blind, but based on the title I assumed I knew what it was about. I was completely wrong, and this show went from being your typical slice-of-life love story to something so much more beautiful! The show follows a young woman who is forced to marry a wealthy man who has a reputation for being cruel. I can’t say anymore without ruining it, but this show is full of twists and is great for all anime fans even if you aren’t typically a fan of romance.

My Happy Marriage is available to stream on Netflix.

2. 'Zom 100: Bucket List Of The Dead' (2023-Present)

Zom 100

This is easily the most unique anime on this list. The show follows a young man who hates his soul-sucking job and just wants to hide in his apartment, drink beer, and watch zombie movies. He is pleasantly surprised when he wakes up one day to find that the zombie apocalypse has hit Japan, and he will never have to go to work ever again. He embarks on a hysterical journey about self-discovery that soon leads him to meeting new people and finding his way back home.

Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead is available to stream on Netflix and Crunchyroll.

1. 'The Apothecary Diaries' (2023-Present)

The Apotheary Diaries

This isn’t just one of my favorite new anime series, it is one of my all-time favorites. The show follows a young woman who is kidnapped and sold to the Rear Palace. Originally she is given typical duties such as cleaning, but when it is discovered that she was being trained as an apothecary and has the ability to taste different poisons, she is given new duties. As the show progresses, she becomes fully intertwined within the inner workings of the palace and the royal family. She also begins to act as a sort of detective when things begin to go awry. This show is amazing and perfect for fans of all types of anime!

The Apothecary Diaries is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
