Best Horror Movies Available On Peacock

The last streaming service horror watchlist for this year is Peacock. I think a lot of people overlook Peacock since it is one of the newer streaming services, but honestly, it’s got a great catalog of content for year-round viewing. Not to mention the movies that they get access to stream the same day that they hit theaters. They had the best catalog of classic horror of any of the other services I have looked at, so here are ten horror movies to add to your spooky season watchlist. You can also stream Five Nights at Freddy’s starting October 27 which is the same day it hits theaters!

10. ‘Dead Silence’ (2007)

Dead Silence

This movie is 100% cheesy, but it is surprisingly terrifying at the same time. There are plenty of jump scares, and if you are like me and get freaked out by ventriloquist dummies then this movie will really freak you out. The film follows a young man who returns to his hometown to investigate his wife’s murder. He soon learns the legend of Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist who was murdered and now haunts the town. There is a great twist in this movie that you really have to see to believe.

9. ‘Us’ (2019)

This is Jordan Peele’s best film, in my opinion. It follows a young mother who returns to her childhood home for some much needed relaxation with her family. Things quickly take a horrifying turn, and soon dark secrets are unraveled, and terrifying truth is revealed. This movie is so realistically plausible that it will stay with you for days after watching.

8. ‘Night Of The Living Dead’ (1968)

This film is also available to stream on Hulu, but I am including it on this list also because it is that good! This film follows a group of survivors who are hiding together in an old home after zombies begin roaming the Earth. Unfortunately, as the zombies begin breaking in, we are reminded that sometimes the living are more terrifying than the undead.

7. ‘Train To Busan’ (2016)

Train To Busan

Train to Busan follows a group of strangers who are traveling on a train from Seoul to Busan when there is a zombie outbreak. Pure chaos ensues as the passengers fight for their lives while trapped on a speeding train. This is the only film on this list that pulls at your heartstrings while also horrifying you.

6. ‘The Invisible Man’ (2020)

The Invisible Man

This is one of my favorite modern horror films, and I will recommend it time and time again. It follows a woman who has just escaped her abusive boyfriend to start a new life. She soon learns that he has died, but she doesn’t believe it for a second. When unexplainable things begin to happen, she is certain that he is to blame. What makes this film so great is that it is just a far-fetched horror story but one that many women can relate to which makes the ending that much more enjoyable.

5. ‘Psycho’ (1960)

There are very few horror fans who haven’t seen this classic film. It follows a secretary from Phoenix who is on the run after robbing her boss of $40,000. While traveling the backroads to avoid police, she runs into a heavy rainstorm that forces her to stop at the Bates Motel. There she meets the kind but strange owner, and her night soon turns to terror.

4. ‘Ghostbusters’ (1984)

I feel like everyone has seen this film, and it just gets better the more you watch it. It is also great for anyone who wants to take part in spooky season movies but hates being scared. The film follows a group of scientists who have been fired from the university where they worked. They decide that the best thing to do is to become ghosthunters, and they quickly learn that they may have bitten off more than they can chew.

3. ‘Halloween II’ (1981)

Halloween II

This film is pretty polarizing with horror fans, but I love it! The film starts immediately after the events of 1978’s Halloween. We follow Laurie to the hospital, and soon Michael follows as well. The interesting thing about this movie is that John Carpenter fully intended for this to be the end of Laurie Strode and Michael Myers, so the ending is pretty funny when the other films are taken into consideration.

2. ‘Renfield’ (2023)

Renfield

This film didn’t do great at the box office this year, but it quickly became a favorite for me. The film follows R.M. Renfield who is Count Dracula’s servant. He is responsible for doing the Count’s bidding when the sun is up or when he is too weak to go out and find food. In this new story, Renfield has had enough and decides to run away from his master and create a life for himself. Unfortunately, the Count isn’t too happy, and things soon take a dark but hilarious turn.

1. ‘Halloween’ (2018)

Halloween

This is one of the best modern horror reboots. The film takes place 40 years after the events of the first film and gives us a glimpse into who Laurie Strode became after the trauma of the events in 1978. Michael escapes during a bus transfer, and he is once again unleashed on Haddonfield. If you plan to watch the Halloween films this year, I definitely recommend checking out this film and Halloween Kills but skipping Halloween Ends.
