The story is told through hip-hop dance and will be narrated by Run-D.M.C’s Rev Run. In this version of the tale, Maria-Clara is determined to bring her parents back together, and along the way, she meets a magical toymaker, Drosselmeyer, and a nutcracker that she brings to life.

Nearly four decades after the release of the classic A Christmas Story film, Ralphie is back and played by the original actor.

The film follows Ralphie as he returns to his childhood home on Cleveland Street and hopes to give his children a magical Christmas like the one he had all those years ago.

A Christmas Story Christmas is available to stream on HBO Max now.

2. Violent Night

After decades of debating whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie (it is), we are finally getting a 100% Christmas action movie. The film follows Santa Claus played by Stranger Things’ David Harbour as he plans for and navigates Christmas Eve. This year though, his plans are going to be interrupted when he arrives at a family compound to find that a group of highly trained mercenaries have taken the family hostage and are demanding money. The film is going to be brutal with its R rating, but it looks like a blast!

Violent Night is set to hit theaters on December 2.

1. Spirited

Every year it seems like we get more variations of Charles Dicken’s A Christmas Carol. While the other Dickens-inspired film on this list chose to stick to the classic story, this Apply TV+ iteration did not. Starring Will Ferrell as the Ghost of Christmas Present and Deadpool’s Ryan Reynolds as Clint Briggs (the Scrooge of this story), this holiday musical turns the tables on the classic tale.

Rather than examining Briggs’ past, present, and future and getting the story from his perspective, we are instead given the story from the ghost’s perspective as Briggs forces him to examine his past, present, and future.

Spirited is out now in select theaters and will be available to stream on Apple Tv+ now.
