Live Out Your Wildest Power Washing Dreams In 'PowerWash Simulator'
If you've ever wanted to do the mundane task of power washing without actually having to do it, then this is the game for you. PowerWash Simulator lets you live out your fantasy of power washing without leaving the comfort of your home. You clean patios, playgrounds, old trains, and pretty much anything else that needs cleaning. You have a variety of different size nozzles that help you get the job done. These nozzles are even available to upgrade as you progress through the game to make your power washing journey easier. It’s a simulator that doesn’t require too much thinking from you, which makes it the perfect game for relaxing.
Gameplay
The gameplay is straightforward, as you only have one task—to power wash. Your first “mission” is to power wash your company van. This is where you learn the game's mechanics. You have a hose, with different size nozzles. Some nozzles are good for getting the basic dirt off an area, while others are for those harder-to-reach areas. There are also times when you need to really get down and dirty, by either crouching or going prone to get to those low, hard-to-reach areas. Button-wise, there are only a few to press to really get the washing going.

There are also “specialty” tasks outside of the main ones that require you to wash an old train or even the Mars rover. The more you clean, the more money you make, which enables you to get upgrades for your hose and nozzles.
You can play solo, or do an online co-op and get a whole group of friends to help you clean. After the task is done, it shows you a quick play-by-play of what you cleaned, which is extremely satisfying.
Graphics
The graphics in the game are good. They are quite simple and run smoothly, and are perfect for a simulator that shows you what needs cleaning. They are well done for an indie game.
Story
Things are very dirty, and you clean them until they shine. What more story do you need in a power washing simulator?
Pros And Cons
This game is very satisfying without having to do any work in real life. Power washing things and getting them clean and perfect is not an easy task, however. Sometimes, the game will tell you that you are 98% clean, and finding those last small areas to clean can be frustrating. The game also will not let you continue until every last piece of dirt is gone. There are also tasks that can feel overwhelming at times as well, just because there is so much to clean. The lack of music can also be annoying, as all you hear sometimes is the noise of the power washer. The character can also be sluggish at times, so moving from one area to another can be daunting.
The cons of the game are definitely easy to overlook because once you start power washing, nothing else matters. The game does not require too much brainpower, so it is a perfect zen-like game after a day of work, or right before bed. It is also quite therapeutic to clean something, and get it perfect looking, even in a video game.
Verdict
Power washing has never been more fun, especially because you can get all the satisfaction of cleaning without having to get off the couch. PowerWash Simulator is the perfect game for anyone looking for a simple, and satisfying experience. The game is in the name. It is a great game to kill time and does not require a lot of brain power.
The game is now free to play on Xbox Game Pass and is definitely worth checking out.
